Personal Consultations

Clinical Nutrition

Clinical Nutrition is a specialty in the field of nutrition. It focuses on maximizing your potential for wellness and vibrancy, improving quality of life, and prevention of disease. Poor life-style choices, genetics, and aging contribute to a weakening of our body’s systems. We can alter this process by making better choices about the foods we eat, improving our eating patterns, getting regular rest and exercise, and by using appropriate nutritional supplements. A balanced program assists your body’s innate healing ability. Small changes in lifestyle can have a large impact on your energy levels and your total state of well-being.

Nutrition Education

During your initial consultation, I will review your health goals, personal and family medical histories, your available laboratory tests, and three-day food diary. After a careful analysis I develop a nutritional 'picture' of your specific needs. We will discuss my impressions and how they relate to your health concerns. From our conversations, I will develop recommendations. My goal is to educate and guide you towards optimal health. I believe that people become motivated by learning more about themselves and feeling their body changing.

Each client receives an individualized program based on their unique biochemical needs, lifestyle, and the science of nutrition. I will give you more extensive questionnaires which provide more detailed information and help me track your progress. We will work together to develop a program designed to maximize your health.

I may refer you to your physician for specific laboratory tests, and am glad to work effectively as part of a health care team.

Programs may include:

- Food Plan in Keeping with your Biochemical Needs and Lifestyle
- Exercise Programs
- Nutritional and Herbal Supplementation
- Detoxification Programs
- Relaxation Techniques
- Stress Reduction Skills
- Creative Problem Solving
- Body Alignment Technique

B.A.T. is a vibrational healing technique which allows access blocked energetic pathways in your body. As the energy becomes blocked, the physical body manifests these changes which we feel as discomfort and dis-ease, fatigue, moodiness, and pain. Together, we uncover old stories, connect them with physical and emotional issues, and release the energy. The body's own template for healing is reactivated. Come and experience this powerful and gentle process

Consultations are done in two ways: in person or over the phone. An initial consultation lasts about 1-1/2 hours, subsequent visits vary in length. In the initial visit we will go over your medical history, life-style, eating habits, supplements and medications. I will make initial recommendations about food/diet, supplements, and if important recommend possible lab tests.

Recommendations May Include

- Food Plan in Keeping with your Biochemical Needs and Lifestyle
- Exercise Programs Nutritional and Herbal Supplementation
- Detoxification Programs
- Relaxation Techniques
- Stress Reduction Skills
- Creative Problem Solving
- Body Alignment Technique

Healing

Healing occurs on all levels-body, mind, and spirit. My main focus is to use nutrition, life-style, supplements and herbs to balance biochemistry. Poor life-style choices, genetics, aging and environmental exposure contribute to a weakening of our body’s systems. By educating ourselves about our options and making small but significant changes in the way we live and think we can dramatically change the way we feel. My goal is to help you gain the tools to keep improving your overall sense of health and vibrancy. I certainly am healthier and stronger now than I was in my 20’s.

Each person’s needs are unique. I tailor each program to suit the person-their life and goals. One person may benefit from a blood type diet, another from a Zone-type diet, and a third from a high-complex, high-carbohydrate vegetarian diet. Supplements and herbs also vary. By tuning in to your specific needs you can give your body what it needs to stimulate it’s own innate healing response.

We don’t get ill overnight, and healing also takes time. It’s important remember that progress, not perfection is the goal.

Because some problems are initiated and affected from a psychological, emotional, or spiritual level, I also practice an energetic healing method called Body Alignment Technique (BAT). BAT is not always a part of my program, but is available if people are interested. When we don’t fully express feelings of an experience or hold old beliefs or perceptions about it, those feelings get stored in our body short-circuiting our energy. BAT helps bring these old memories up to the surface and to reconnect the energy blockages. Often it can do in one session what it could take conventional therapy months to achieve.

Fees

Initial visits are usually 1-1/2 hours. Please fill out the two pages of health history forms and the sign the release form (PDF). Also, please keep at least a two day diet diary and send me that as well. All of this facilitates our meeting and my ability to put the puzzle pieces together.

Initial Consultation (1.5 hours)

$240.00

Reassessment Visits (after Initial Consultation)

1 hour $160
2 hours $320

If you call with a quick check-in or question, there is no charge. If you call or e-mail with questions and we make changes to your program, I consider that to be a visit and you will be charged.

There is a $50 fee for appointments not cancelled with a 24-hour notice.

Most insurance companies do NOT reimburse for nutritional consultations, so insurance is not accepted. Do ask your insurance company what their policy is on this matter. Some companies will pay if you have a request from a physician. You would then need to pay for the services, send the invoice to your insurance company, and be reimbursed by them directly.
