Dr. Carlos Lopez is a Harvard trained Psychiatrist and a Self Realized person. Self Realization means that he experiences his ego and thoughts as separate from his identity as pure consciousness. This allows him to practice medicine without undue influence from his personal ego.

Dr.Carlos Lopez began his medical training in Guadalajara, Mexico and practiced there as a physician before being trained as a Psychiatrist at Harvard University. While at Harvard he received a fellowship in child and adolescent Psychiatry. He is currently practicing Psychiatry at Boston University’s South Boston Child and Adolescent Health Center, and as a Staff Physician at Harvard University’s Children’s Hospital. Dr. Lopez is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University.

Although his credentials are impressive, this interview focuses on Dr. Lopez’s experience as a spiritual aspirant, his discovery of Self Realization,and how it impacts his practice of medicine.

Liz Lipski, PhD, CCN Is the host of the Access to Health Experts interview series. She holds a doctorate and is board certified in Clinical Nutrition, is the author of Digestive Wellness, Digestive Wellness for Children, and Leaky Gut Syndrome. She’s the Director of Doctoral Studies at Hawthorn University, and the nutrition editor for Pilates Style Magazine.
